The Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAHC) has opened a new exhibit in their gallery hall located on the second floor of the Smithsonian National Museum of American History located in Washington DC. The exhibit includes many artifacts archaeologically uncovered at the Monticello site and highlights the lives of the enslaved Africans during their time at Monticello and after. The exhibit is a venture between both the NMAAHC and the Thomas Jefferson Foundation at Monticello.
